Matteo Basilé

Born in 1974 in Rome where he lives and works.

He participated to the I Premio Cairo, in 2000.

Basilé possesses an extraordinary ability to reconcile opposing ideas such as the beautiful and the grotesque, the real and the surreal, the natural and the artificial. His research is an interface between East and West, operating a kind of collision situated between memory and contemporaneity, between sacred and profane.
