Successful Story
He tells hundreds of stories on a single canvas with the gusto of the miniaturist. They are stories of aliens, of space viruses, of killer bees, of armed ducks rained down from unknown galaxies. This army of toy soldiers descends on gruyere-shaped lands or set tables, silent. Di Piazza relates the fantastical imagery of the 2000s to European painting of past centuries, and the result is a scene from Disney's Toy Story, but also from an Arcimbolodo or a contemporary Bosch.
He participated to the 1st Premio Cairo, in 2000.
