Francesco Arena
The artist's research often moves along two tracks - that of collective history, particularly national history, and that of personal history - which form two lines that touch, overlap, and intersect. In his performances, installations and sculptures, the chronicle "in-forms" objects, whether they are objects of everyday life - diaries, cigars, living room furniture - or made from traditional sculptural materials (marble, slate, bronze).
He participated to the 16th Premio Cairo, in 2015.
