Davide Coltro
He gives life to a world of evocative and theatrical visions that take their cues from our daily lives. In the evenings of Mysteries (lambda prints on aluminum) he intercepts luminous presences by shooting them from the back or in profile, to make them float against a black, dense, impenetrable background. These are portraits of ordinary men and women that the artist notices, photographs and isolates in a void laden with mystery.
His work addresses the relationship between art and technology, which, with works such as the "Electronic Painting," creates a flow of aesthetic experiences with electronic canvas-like patterns that directly engage the viewer.
He participated to the 5th Premio Cairo, in 2004.
