In his paintings he recounts everyday normality, the domestic intimacy of families grappling with the most mundane chores. There is the mother washing clothes, the children playing in the nursery, the birthday dinner that brings together relatives and friends. But the atmospheres described are permeated with a subtle restlessness, an existential bewilderment accentuated by the searching, imprecise, ill-defined brushstrokes.
